Bella

DESCRIPTION. 6yr 14h Chestnut Appaloosa Mare. Sweet appaloosa mare who loves people, scratches, and cookies. She is actually a rescue horse, confiscated by the HS/SPCA of Sumter County out of a horrible situation. As you can see, she's come a LONG way. She is in great foster care right now, and is UTD on everything and very healthy. Bella has been lightly started under saddle in February/March of 2010. She also ties, picks up all of her feet, leads, drops her head easily for haltering, moves her hindquarters and forehand on cue, stands for mounting/dismounting, is learning voice commands, and is very responsive and sensitive in just a rope hackamore. Bella is also the first horse to COME running when she sees a halter. If you are in the pasture with her, she will follow you all around like a puppy, and appreciates a some rubbing while she is there. She is a sweet mare with a curious, non-spooky nature, however, she is still very green and will require an experienced rider at this time to continue to "season" her and give her more experience. She deserves a bright future, are you willing to provide her that loving, forever home?

ADOPTION FEE. The HS/SPCA of Sumter County is asking for a *$500+ adoption fee (please contact them for specific adoption fee, as it varies with the horse's training and experience), which acts as a donation to help reimburse the fees that they have had to cover during the rehabilitation of many horses! An adoption contract will need to be filled out through the HS/SPCA for this horse to pre-qualify the potential new owner. See www.hsspca.org for additional information on the adoption process.

Please contact the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County at humane@sum.net for more information on adopting Bella or you may contact Bobbie at BobbieMillerTraining@Hotmail.com for a more detailed assessment.

TRAINING. As of March 17th, 2010, she ties, stands for mounting/dismounting, walks and trots under saddle. She runs up to the gate to meet people, and has a very loving, quiet, trusting disposition. Her relationship continues improving with people.

As of November 20th, she leads, picks up all of her feet, drops her head to pressure, moves her hindquarters and forehand on cue, and has a worm a western saddle with no issues. She is progressing nicely, and ready to be backed.
